Rules and Expectations for Student Behavior

  • The Falmouth Public Schools’ rules are detailed in our school handbook. A copy of these rules will be sent home during the first week of school for you to discuss with your child. In an effort to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility, kindergarten classroom rules are created with the children during the first few weeks of school.

Throughout the year, time is spent teaching, practicing, and revisiting conflict resolution. Children are encouraged to “use their words" to solve problems that arise rather than resorting to aggressive behaviors. Teachers continually model and discuss appropriate behaviors and expectations with students in a calm, respectful manner and offer positive, acknowledging feedback when students are doing what is expected.
