Late Buses
-
Late buses will be available on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Students participating in voluntary school activities on other days will have to arrange for their own transportation. Late buses are only available to students staying for a school-sponsored activity ending at 4:10 pm. Students must have a late bus pass provided by a teacher/staff/advisor to ride the late bus.
Students staying after school for any reason, whether it be for sports, clubs, detention, academic help, or any other after school activity, must remain supervised by a faculty/staff member or a club/activity advisor until 4:10 pm. Late bus passes will only be distributed by the supervising faculty/staff/advisor.
Bus Safety
-
Students are reminded that all school rules and expectations of behavior apply on buses in transit to and from school, extracurricular activities, field trips, and other school-sponsored events. Upon arrival on school property, a student is considered present and should enter the building. Students who then leave school without permission will be considered truant and/or cutting classes and appropriate consequences will be assigned. Once the school buses have been released, students may not cross in front of any bus until all buses have left school property. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.
The bus driver has full authority and responsibility to enforce order and maintain discipline on the bus. In the event of a discipline problem with a student, the driver will deliver the student to their destination and then notify the principal or designee via a Bus Conduct Report. In the event of a discipline problem that impedes the safety of the bus driver continuing on their route, the driver may summon help from either their employer, the Director of Transportation, or in the most severe instances, the local police. You must have a pass signed by the Principal or designee to ride a regular bus other than your own and you must also have a pass to ride a late bus. You will not be allowed on a bus without a pass.

The following violations may result in a suspension of riding privileges for a period to be determined by the Principal or designee.

- Refusing to remain seated while the bus is in motion
- Refusing to obey or comply with a driver’s request or directions

Disciplinary action for violations other than those listed above shall be at the discretion of the Principal or designee.

Student Behavior at Bus Stops
-
Students should wait in line, in order of arrival at the bus stop. Students should not get to the stop more than five (5) minutes prior to the bus arrival. There should be no pushing, shoving, or cutting in line once loading begins. If something is dropped, lost, or forgotten your child should report it to the driver when on the bus. If a child must cross the street to get on the bus, they should wait for the bus to stop, wait for the driver's signal, look both ways for oncoming traffic, and walk quickly across the street ten feet in front of the bus. Discipline regulations apply to behavior at the bus stop.
